Our client is an independent firm specialising in the production and restoration of electromagnetic magnets extensively used within the metal recovery and recycling sectors. Additionally, they excel as a High Voltage service provider, offering installation, maintenance, and repair services. These two core activities seamlessly complement each other.
Over the years, they have solidified their position as the preferred choice for refurbishing and realising drum magnets, enjoying unrivalled dominance in the UK market. Periodically, they receive twenty-ton magnets from both the UK and Europe for comprehensive refurbishment. Furthermore, their newly crafted drum magnets have been successfully distributed across Great Britain, Europe, and the United States.
The company boasts a unique portfolio of around one hundred niche High Voltage service contracts, spanning the entire nation. This facet of the business demonstrates consistent growth, leading to additional engagements that encompass diverse tasks handled by our proficient engineers. These tasks range from installing new transformers, switch gears, and electric cranes, among other endeavours.
Main duties include:
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical drawings to determine specifications and requirements
- Measure, cut, and shape materials using hand tools and power tools
- Assemble and fit components accurately according to specifications
- Weld or solder components together to assemble structural parts
- Inspect completed work for quality and accuracy
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient work-flow
- Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean work area
Skills:
- Proficient in using hand tools such as hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.
- Experience with power tools such as drills, saws, grinders, etc.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision
- Knowledge of electrical systems and wiring is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members
