Due to the ongoing success of this initiative, we are currently looking for highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineers to join our dedicated team in undertaking the Front-End Engineering Design of cutting-edge industrial Fuel Switching projects.
Position Overview: As a Mechanical Engineer within our FEED Fuel Switching team, you will play a leading role in designing, planning and developing the mechanical systems that underpin our industrial solutions projects. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of designers, engineers and project managers to deliver engineering solutions contributing to a low-carbon and energy resilient future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and contribute to the conceptualisation, design and optimisation of mechanical systems for Fuel Switching initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary teams to integrate mechanical components into comprehensive energy solutions
- Apply your in-depth understanding of fuel switch technologies to develop innovative approaches that maximise energy efficiency and minimise environmental impact.
- Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments to evaluate the viability of fuel switch projects, considering economic, environmental and operational factors.
- Utilise advanced simulation and modelling tools to predict performance, analyse system behaviour, and optimise mechanical designs.
- Provide technical support / leadership in the development of engineering specifications, standards, and procedures related to Fuel Switching and future energy projects.
- Act as a subject matter expert, staying up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies in the field of sustainable energy.
- Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand their requirements, address technical concerns, and provide solutions that align with their sustainability goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience in Mechanical Engineering roles related to future energy projects, with a specific focus on Fuel Switching.
- Proficiency in utilising CAD software for design and simulation purposes.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.
- Knowledge of renewable energy systems, energy storage, and grid integration is a plus.
- Familiarity with UK energy policies, regulations, and standards related to Fuel Switching and sustainability also a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to convey technical information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Professional engineering certification (Chartered Engineer status) is advantageous.
