Brightwork are thrilled to be assisting one of our esteemed clients, a leading player in the engineering services sector, in their search for a talented Mechanical Engineer. Our client, a pioneer in providing advanced engineering solutions, is committed to innovation, excellence, and customer satisfaction.

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role within our client's Engineering division, providing specialised technical expertise in high-speed rotating equipment, particularly pumps and associated ancillary systems. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will collaborate with a dynamic team to deliver cross-divisional support to various industries, including power, oil & gas, and general industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer technical support for the operation, maintenance, and repair of high-speed rotating equipment.
  • Assist in the specification and selection of rotating equipment and ancillary systems.
  • Provide guidance on upgrades, troubleshooting, and overhauls, with a focus on enhancing efficiency and reliability.
  • Support product performance testing and collaborate closely with the test department.
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to the development of new designs and upgrades.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis on failure mechanisms and provide recommendations.
  • Perform site surveys to optimise plant operation and enhance reliability.
  • Provide technical assistance during workshop activities for equipment dismantling and rebuilding.
  • Support sales and contracts teams in identifying new business opportunities.
  • Ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety standards in all activities.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience in a technical support role, preferably in the engineering services sector.
  • Strong technical and commercial knowledge, particularly in hydraulic systems and pump engineering.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and international standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Familiarity with quality systems and standards.
  • Good PC skills and ability to adapt to various work environments.
