Form of workWe are looking for a Mechanical Engineering Technician on a temporary basis in Medway. This role may become permanent for the right candidate!
You will work as part of a team meeting objectives and targets, supporting teaching staff in practical sessions, ensuring equipment is kept up to a standard.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Ensure safe, tidy and appropriate resources are available for the Engineering workshop/storeroom.
- You will be supporting students and teachers with practical sessions and assessments, demonstrating practical instructions.
- Prepare and maintain facilities including arranging servicing and maintenance of equipment
- Maintain stock levels, keeping track of anything which may need ordering
- Ensure safe storage of materials
- Follow Health and Safety and COSHH Regulations
- Follow safe workshop practice
- Complete mandatory training
- Travel between sites if required
Essential criteria:
- Level 2 qualification and experience in Engineering
- Proven experience in relevant field
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to unload/load materials and supplies
The successful candidate will require an enhanced DBS and satisfactory referencing.
This is a full-time position for 37 hours per week. Mon - Thurs 8:30-5 and Friday 08:30 - 4:30.
This role pays £11.44ph - £14.15ph (depending on experience)
