Mechanical Estimator - Commercial, Education, Healthcare and Residential projects - based in Northampton, Northamptonshire
 

A leading national Building Services Contractor is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Estimator to be based from their Northampton office tendering projects in the East Midlands; this is an exciting opportunity join an expanding office for a well-established business.

They offer a comprehensive electrical and mechanical installation service across many sectors including Education, Health, Defence and Commercial / Industrial.
As the Mechanical Estimator you will work within an established estimating team in preparing mechanical estimates of values up to £6 million, so previous experience is essential.
The Mechanical Estimator will have the following duties and responsibilities:
· To send out enquiries to suppliers and sub-contractors.
· Ensure tenders are prepared to a high standard.
· Take-off the drawings and input into Estimation software.
· Obtain competitive and accurate quotations from mechanical specialists.
· Liaising with other members of the estimating team and Contracts Managers.
· Carry out estimates using electronic packages.
· Take the master tender letter and summary and customise them to suit the requirements of the submission and more importantly incorporate any specific clarifications.
· Develop working relationships with design consultants, main contractors, and clients to establish communication paths.
Successful applicants will have the following qualifications and experience:
· Experience within in similar position as a Mechanical Estimator.
· Mechanical qualifications.
· Strong negotiation skills.
· Confident communicator.
· Ideally, you will have either SMSTS and or SSSTS.
