Our client, a leader in the Energy from Waste industry, are now looking for a Mechanical Fitter to support with their service department working around the country on outages and maintenance schedules on a range of Power Projects mainly EFW.
About the role:
Duties will include but are not limited to:
- You will consult blueprints and sketches to execute jobs and tasks to specification.
- You will assess equipment, structures, materials, and job specifications for appropriate welding positions and methods.
- You will operate specialised machinery for fabrication and industrial welding or supervise robots that do the same.
- You will trim metal components using heat, fire, and electricity.
- You will take apart and dispose of large metal objects like boilers, furnace grates, Feed Hoppers, Ash Extraction Systems, and other structures.
- You will monitor your work environment for hazards and maintains healthy ventilation levels to avoid particle or gas inhalation.
- You will demonstrate commitment to HSEQ; actively encouraging and leading others to implement and comply with project HSEQ requirements.
- You will ensure that risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) are reviewed with regards to HSE requirements, and that work is carried out in accordance with the RAMS.
What you will need:
Ideally you will have skills and experience covering the below:
- NVQ Level 3 or above in an appropriate discipline.
- A CCNSG or willing to obtain (Safety Passport)
- Experienced in delivering mechanical services to a large industrial plant.
- Experienced in performing work in accordance with HSEQ legal requirements.
- Knowledge of relevant international and national technical standards
- Working in enclosed space certified
