Position: Mechanical Bias Maintenance Engineer / Mechanical Fitter / Maintenance Engineer
Salary: £46,500 to £50,000 per annum (£52k - £57k with potential overtime), Plus Annual Bonus, 10% Pension, Profit Share Scheme, Recognition Awards, Overtime paid at x1.5 & x2.0, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 10pm till 6am AND short day Friday, 6pm till 12am (perm nights)
Location: Commutable from Newbury, Swindon, Chippenham, Cirencester, Faringdon, Yate, Marlborough, Oxford and surrounding areas

We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter / Mechanical Bias Maintenance Engineer to work within a busy factory environment, looking after the day to day maintenance of their production machinery.

Responsibilities
Whilst working in this large company, you will be benefit from working in a small team on night shift. The role is supporting mechanical fitting and maintenance work across all plant machinery (with basic electrical work) with a heavy bias on dealing with breakdowns re-actively as well as supporting planned preventative maintenance. Probably a 70/30 split, biased to breakdown repairs. The role provides autonomy, accountability and a degree of flexibility.
· Focusing on Mechanical Maintenance and fitting work across all plant and machinery through fault finding, planned maintenance, shut downs and project work. The role will cover basic electrical work.
· Working in a dedicated mechanical team, responsible for all mechanics across the factory.
· Identification of solutions that improve efficiency and reduce costs.
· Support the handover of work to the opposite shift and ensure works are logged and recorded.
· To work safely at all times and follow safe systems of work.
· To be actively involved in the development and continued planned preventative maintenance schedule.
Machinery in this environment is mainly all plastics related, including extruding, moulding, conveyors, mixers, hydraulics.
Requirements
· Mechanically trained and qualified either through an Apprenticeship or hold mechanical engineering qualifications.
· Mechanical background with basic electrical working in a similar environment, in industrial or production or manufacturing environment.
· Your job titles may include Mechanical Fitter, Multi Skilled Engineer, Mechanical Bias Maintenance Engineer or Mechanical Technician.
· We are looking for someone who has SOME of the following mechanical experience; hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, belts, bearings, chains, pumps, gears, welding, machining, fabricating, fault finding and repairs. Basic electrical is desirable.
· Friendly and adaptable working attitude, with the hunger to learn and physically fit
· Proactive work attitude and keen to get stuck in
