Role Overview
One of the UK’s leading manufacturers and engineers of retail structures within the horticulture sector are looking to appoint a HVAC Mechanical Project Engineer to join their growing business based in Brough.
Reporting to the Mechanical and Electrical Manager, the main purpose of the role is to be responsible for assisting the sales team technically and project managing. You will also be responsible for designing, specifying and delivering HVAC orientated Mechanical Projects within a team working on horticultural advancements & innovations. You need meticulous in your approach, technically strong and commercially astute.

Key Responsibilities
- Review HVAC mechanical enquiries with the Mechanical and Electrical team and agree concept designs.
- Provide concept designs and assist in tender preparation including specification.
- Development of concept designs on successful projects including CAD drawings.
- Assist in the preparation of bills of materials and timelines for delivery.
- Calculate heat losses, flow rates, pump sizes, pipe sizes as part of the design.
- Attend project meetings internally and with clients.
- Assist in the resolution of problems and issues on site as they occur.
- Prepare documentation for the Operation and Maintenance manual, obtaining copies of warranties, certificates and “as fitted” drawings as necessary.
- Support the customer post installation and answer queries.
- Post Project Evaluation of Key Lessons Learnt.
- Review your CPD needs with your line manager to ensure you stay up to date with technological advancements and developments in the mechanical sector.
- Attend M&E meetings, and others as required, to provide project and enquiries updates.
Skills & Experience
- Practical track record within a HVAC mechanical engineering environment, preferably apprentice trained but not essential.
- Design experience - AutoCAD / Schematics
- Project Management experience
- Ability to communicate effectively at all times on all levels.
- Commercial acumen, possessing a "can-do" attitude.
- Very good time management and organisational skills.
