gap technical are proud to be representing a leading UK Engineering, Projects, and Installations company in their search for a Mechanical Project Manager. The role involves Project Scoping, Project Costing and Stakeholder management. Overseeing Mechanical installations across various sites in the UK, primarily in the North West and Yorkshire regions, within FMCG and food process manufacturing.

Performance Objectives

• Conducting client visits to discuss design concepts, undertake site surveys and assessments.
• Providing quotations after enquiries/site surveys
• Managing projects involving steel platforms, pipework, plant layouts and conveyors, particularly focused on process food equipment.
• Editing and modifying drawings on CAD, with proficiency in Solidworks preferred.
• Ensuring specifications and customer requirements are fulfilled.
• Organizing suppliers and subcontractors
• Liaising with the workshop regarding labour requirements.
• Ensuring compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
• Overseeing site installations and ensuring project execution runs smoothly.
• Successfully completing handovers within specified timescales and budgets.

Requirements:

Person Specification

• Ideally apprentice-trained with NVQ Level 3/HNC Mechanical Engineering qualification.
• Proficiency in Solidworks and AutoCAD.
• Experience in fabrications, plant layouts, and capital equipment installations.
• In-depth experience in Food Industry projects and site surveys.
• Strong communication skills, organized, flexible mindset, and committed to excellence.
