To organise efficient maintenance and safe operation for all Mechanical systems. To ensure the operational integrity of all Mechanical systems and that work complies with defined standards and regulatory requirements. To lead and organise assigned Mechanical personnel.
Any other delegated responsibilities as instructed by the line management within the timeframe specified in a safe and efficient manner to meet business requirements, provided the instruction is reasonable and the incumbent is capable and deemed competent to fulfil these.
Successful applicant will be subject to gaining and maintaining National Security Vetting to BPSS/ SC level.
- Plan, lead, organise and control defined Maintenance discipline
- Assess technician training requirements
- Assure technician competence – conduct regular field observations
- Conduct staff technician appraisals and provide feedback to Employer re contract technician performance
- Communicate Management & Corporate objectives to technician level
- Review & endorse maintenance work schedules/plans
- Conduct daily worksite visits verifying work safety and quality
- Conduct regular reviews of task Toolbox Talks (TBT), ensuring competency of individuals
- Ensure procedures are available to the technicians and that procedures are current
- Participate in department budget planning
- Control maintenance costs in line with budgetary requirements
- Liaise with Maintenance Engineering organization
- Manage discipline MOC compliance and completion
- Prepare for, and participate in meetings as required
- Participate in HSE and technical risk assessments
- Position participates in SAGE Duty Manager Rota (24x7) providing ongoing support to SAGE Plant operation and Emergency Response
- In the event of an emergency. To mobilize the Emergency Control Centre (ECC) and manage the activities of the ECC and SAGE Emergency Response
Maths, English and Physics or Chemistry 'O' levels or equivalent.
City and Guilds/Vocational Qualification process/chemical plant operation (Desirable).
Completed recognised apprenticeship or equivalent certified training program.
S/NVQ level 3 vocational qualification (Desirable).
