My client is a specialist manufacturer. They are looking for a Mechanical Technician, who is eager to step up into a Product Development position, to join their team in Buckinghamshire on a permanent basis.
The Mechanical Technician will ideally have the following attributes:
- Experienced in a technical and hands-on Engineering position
- Enjoys R&D and New Product Development
- Knowledge of compliance and testing
- Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
- Proficient using 2D and 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, Inventor etc.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Proficient using MS Office
- Excellent organisational skills and time management skills
- Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team
The Mechanical Technician/Product Development role will involve:
- Developing new and existing products
- Using CAD to produce technical drawings, reading, annotating, creating jigs, fixtures, and testing apparatus
- Handling compliance and test specifications
- Liaising with manufacturing providers
- Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans
- Updating 3D models and drawings
- Inputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMs
- Checking drawings for sign off
- Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
