Mechanical Technicians - SUFFOLK - PERMANENT - up to £42,000 per annum and benefits package
Mechanical Technicians required ASAP to work on a permanent basis in Suffolk, specialising in the Nuclear industry and focusing on heavy mechanical equipment. This is a permanent full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits package.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct unsupervised maintenance routines.
- Diagnose and repair faults on heavy mechanical plant, including motors, pumps, HVAC and Air compressors, water treatment plant, fans, drives, pneumatic controls, pressurization units, HTHW, and LTHW systems.
Technical Competences:
- Formal and recognized apprenticeship served in Mechanical Engineering and relevant skill areas.
- Awareness of risk assessment and working safely within an engineering environment.
- Ability to follow work instructions, read/interpret technical diagrams, and report technical information as required.
Industry Qualifications Required (dependent on operational requirements):
- City & Guilds Level III or NVQ equivalent (mandatory)
- C&G/HNC or time served equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline
- IOSH Managing Safely advantageous

- Diagnose, fault-find, debug, and commission systems as required.
- Provide out-of-hours cover when required.
- Complete relevant paperwork accurately and within set time scales.
- Comply with all safety-related policies and procedures.

- Establish good working relationships with team members and provide guidance to others.
- Contribute to overall team and company objectives, responding quickly to new directives.
- Contribute to pre-job briefs, exchange ideas, and suggest improvements to team performance.
