Job Description

Medical Secretary

Location: New Hall Hospital, Salisbury

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Full-time

Salary: Depending on experience + Benefits

Summary:

New Hall Hospital is one of Wiltshire's leading private hospitals with an excellent reputation for delivering high quality healthcare treatments and services. Situated in 14 acres of quiet, landscaped parkland two miles south of Salisbury, the Georgian Manor House was opened as a hospital in 1980 and currently has 32 patient beds.

By investing in advanced medical technology, the hospital offers a wide range of treatments and services. The fully equipped ultra clean air theatre suite is particularly suitable for orthopaedic procedures offered such as arthroscopy, hip and knee replacements. The day unit is suitable for minor operations and endoscopy.

The role:

We have a great opportunity for a Medical Secretary to join our team at New Hall Hospital based in Sailsbury. At Ramsay Health Care UK, we know our people are our most important asset. Your main task will be supporting our consultants with fast and precise record creation which is so important to the smooth running of patient management. You will be expected to multi-task across a range of secretarial duties; offer good judgement in escalating issues, prioritising jobs, highly accurate typing, as these tasks all play an important part of your role. You’ll be valued for your skills and expertise and have the chance to build on them through our Ramsay Academy, too.

What you will bring with you:

  • Excellent IT skills and accuracy
  • Audio typing experience – desirable not essential
  • Experience of multi-tasking and working to strict deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • High attention to detail
  • Background knowledge or experience with medical terminology – highly desirable
