We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and flexible person to join our Reception Team. The shift pattern available is as follows: Monday 1pm to 7pm, Tuesday 1pm to 5.30pm, Thursday 1pm to 6pm, Friday 1pm to 7pm The successful applicant should have excellent people and customer service skills, be a strong and flexible team player, be computer literate and able to work on their own initiative. The successful candidatemust be flexible,and be able toprovide extra coverfor the team's annual leave (between the hours 7.30am and 7pm Monday to Friday) as well as having; - A friendly, professional and courteous manner - Be capable of working in an extremely busy, fast paced environment - Be adept at answering questions and dealing with patient queries - Complete administration tasks in a timely and accurate manner - Be motivated and work well as part of a team, but also able to work independently and make their own decisions Job responsibilities To represent the surgery as a first point of contact via the telephone and on the reception desk, and to liaise between patients and the clinical team To actively signpost and make appointments for patients to see either a doctor, nurse or other health professional (including Nurse Practitioners, Orthopaedic Practitioners, Health Care Assistants and Mental Health Workers) over the telephone or via the reception desk To take accurate messages from patients or other health professionals and record and communicate them appropriately. Prescription, email and online consultation administration involving the use of a variety of IT systems and processes.
Maintain high standards of appearance for the front of house areas including waiting room and reception desk. Management of written communications from other healthcare providers ensuring the contained information is dealt with appropriately and accurately.
