Medicine Supply Chain Lead (MSCL) – New Products

This role will preferably be based in GSK House, UK or but can also be based at other European strategic locations on a case-by-case basis.

This is a truly exciting role to be an integral part of the Global Supply Chain at GSK.

The role of the Medicine Supply Chain Lead (MSCL) is to develop and/or maintain a comprehensive product lifecycle strategy for the end-to-end Supply Chain that aligns both short- & long-term Global Supply Chain (GSC) resources to provide a total supply perspective. This perspective includes sourcing (make vs. buy), technical, quality, digital, data and analytics, investments, suppliers, and regulatory strategies to ensure that the product and Supply Chain strategy continues to be evolved and the Supply Chain designed and updated to meet customer value and manage risks.

Collectively the Therapy Supply Chain Team will drive excellence and consistency throughout the Supply Chain from a strategic and operational perspective. As a key part of this team, the MSCL will ensure that processes and resources are effectively and efficiently utilized to ensure continuity of supply for the asset. The MSCL will ensure that the product, components and excipients are managed to minimize risk and maximise revenue.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, quality, regulatory, marketing, and sales, to ensure that our products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficacy, while also maximizing customer satisfaction and profitability.

In this role you will:

  • Work with Commercial / R&D / GSC Internal & Third Party SC sites and functions to develop supply strategies for specific products within the Therapies.
  • Lead the Product Strategy Leadership Team (PSLT) to develop and execute Supply Chain strategy as well as preparing and maintaining Product Strategy Documents (PSD) Supply Chain Visions for each product within the Therapy.
  • Convert global product revenue scenarios into product volume forecasts for all New Products and proposes GSC options to respond to these scenarios.
  • Work with the MCTs and Commercial Platform teams to develop a global commercial picture for specific products within the relevant Therapy including key risks, issues & sensitivities. Translate this data into GSC specific product related information within the 0 – 10 year timeframe.
  • Prepare sourcing decisions supported by financial business cases and recommend capacity and technical capability requirements to allow GSC to meet the commercial ambition.
  • Develop the strategic roadmap and integrated delivery plan that supports the product strategy considering appropriate resources to manage strategy execution including post launch Regulatory strategy.
  • Outline long range CoGs projections for commercial use incorporating associated plans for continuous improvement

Why you?

Required qualifications and skills:

  • Degree qualified or able to demonstrate equivalent level of knowledge
  • Ability to deal with complexity involving Commercial, R&D and GSC
  • Excellent influencing skills to enable selling of ideas and initiatives to the leadership teams on the basis of a broad spectrum of drivers and constraints.
  • Problem solving abilities suitable for handling complex issues across technical, quality, regulatory and operational areas.
  • Commercial demand: Modelling/scenario/sensitivity analysis.
  • Knowledge of GSC network and supply capability.
  • End-to-End Supply Chain design experience.

Preferred qualifications and skills:

  • Demonstrated commercial awareness and experience.
  • Understanding of financial modelling, business case elements that support decision making
  • Understanding of Supply Chain processes, regulatory constraints, planning and logistics, trade routes and GSK trading arrangements.
  • Ability to act as an effective leader in a complex matrix environment across multiple teams and geographies.
  • Regulatory processes including timelines and constraints
  • Understanding of risk management and compliance
