MEng Engineering Degree Apprenticeship

The Dyson Institute is unlike any other higher education institution. We aim to develop the best engineers in the world by combining rigorous academic programmes with work on future Dyson products.

Our programme is an innovative, four-year integrated MEng Engineering degree, which offers you the opportunity to study a rigorous academic degree alongside practically applying this knowledge to real engineering problems at Dyson. You’ll learn from our specialist academics and Dyson engineers in world-leading facilities, all on Dyson’s technology campus in Malmesbury, Wiltshire.

You will study a general engineering syllabus during the first two years, whilst also completing credit bearing workplace rotations across Dyson's global engineering teams. The combination of academic learning and industry experience will give you a firm foundation in engineering principles and how they are applied in the workplace. At the end of the second year, you'll then choose which academic stream to specialise in for years three and four and be supported to find an accompanying workplace team.

  • software engineering
  • mechanical engineering
  • electronics hardware engineering
  • electromechanical engineering

During the programme, two days a week are devoted to lectures, academic projects and self-study. For the remainder of the week, you’ll work alongside experienced Dyson engineers on real engineering problems.

Your learning won’t end at graduation. The seamless transition to the next step in your Dyson career will build on your four-year head start, with individual progression pathways designed to develop future leaders to drive innovation and engineering globally.

Entry Requirements

  • AAB to include A in Mathematics, A in a STEM subject and B in any other subject*
  • All applicants to the Dyson Institute must hold the right to both study and work (full-time) in the UK.
  • We also require, as standard, that you hold a minimum of GCSE grade C/4, or equivalent qualification, in English and Mathematics.
  • *These grade requirements are based on the A Level grading system, please see our website for alternative qualification equivalents.
