The role
The role of Mental Health and Wellbeing Adviser will lead on the development and delivery of Mental Health and Wellbeing support in Camden schools, colleges and early year’s settings, including supporting the uptake and implementation of Trauma Informed Practice in Camden.
This is a pivotal role where you will liaise and work with senior leaders and staff responsible for Mental Health in Camden schools to audit practice, identify strengths and challenges and ways forward. You will also provide strategic oversight and input into Mental Health and Wellbeing of children and young people in Camden, including working closely with the Educational Psychologists to support settings to engage with Trauma Informed Practice in Camden.
The role will enable you to work with and provide training in schools and in other settings to improve Mental Health outcomes for staff, children, young people and their families.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.
About you
We are looking for the successful candidate to either hold a relevant degree level qualification (for example psychology, public health), or a professional qualification of an equivalent level in education, health or social care.
You will have experience of managing sensitive situations and ability to provide appropriate levels of trauma support. As well, you will bring to the role excellent understanding of children’s Mental Health and the concept of resilience.
The nature of the role will mean you can build credibility with busy teachers senior school leaders and other school staff rapidly and earn their trust and confidence. It will also be integral to the role that you have excellent communication skills, including the ability to write clear and concise reports and communicate with, influence and motivate a wide range of people including head teachers, school staff and other professionals.
