Job Title:MI Developer

Markerstudy is a leading provider of private insurance in the UK, insuring around 5% of the private cars on the UK roads, 20% of commercial vehicles and over 30% of motorcycles in total premium levels of circa £1b. The majority of business is written as the insurance pricing provider behind household names such as Tesco, Sainsbury’s, O2, Halifax, AA, Saga and Lloyds Bank to list a few.
Role Overview
This position is responsible for supporting the business with BI/MI requests, and to provide accurate and timely information to all business levels both internally and externally.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with the business directly and through technical business analyst to define BI requirement.
- Develop sophisticated, well performed reports, dashboards.
- Perform thorough unit tests.
- Manage report security through standard procedures.
- Perform release to production through standard process.
- Deliver results within a multi-task work environment.
- Perform data analysis using T-SQL, Excel and Power BI.
- Identify data quality issues and support the data governance initiative by developing exception reports.
- Provide technical training to report users.
- To undertake other reasonable responsibilities and projects as instructed by their line manager.
Key Skills and Knowledge:
Essential Skills
- Previous hands on development experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2012/2014 (or higher).
- Strong TSQL SSIS skills.
- Strong Power BI skills.
- Can-do attitude, an ability to think on your feet and work under pressure
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Success working in a team based environment with good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and virtually.
- The ability to work quickly and effectively in order to provide ad hoc queries to business users.
- Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work with Technical Business Analyst, to read, interprets and develops reports from requirement documents.
- The ability to work with internal and external customers to define report requirements
