£18.97 per hour (first 40 hours)

£28.46 per hour (for any hours over 40)

£37.94 per hour (hours worked before 7:00 am)

47.5 hours week Monday to Friday between the hours of 7:00 am and 5:00 pm - there may be some earlier start times required and for this it will be paid at double-time.

You are paid per hour from the moment you leave your home until you return home.

Contracted hours: 40 hours at £18.97 per hour & 7.5 hours per week at £28.46 per hour

Overtime after 5:00 pm: up to 12 hours per week overtime available, paid at £28.46 per hour

Overtime before 7:00 am: £37.94 per hour(Double time)

6 hours overtime per week = £8,879.52

12 hours overtime per week = £17,759.04

We are happy to look at time-served HGV mechanics (those with lots of experience but no formal qualifications)

1 weeks’ notice will be given for scheduled overtime and we are looking for mechanics who want to take the overtime hours as this will suit the business needs.

The role will see you operate to and from your home and you will travel throughout Yorkshire, the North East, the bottom of Scotland and possibly into London on occasion, which may require some overnight stays for which you will be paid a subsistence of £40 per night plus a food allowance and you will be booked into suitable hotel accommodation, this could be up to 3 times a month but again this would be required you to flexible to meet workload demands.

The Mobile HGV Technician role will involve carrying out inspections, routine servicing, testing and repairs of HGV vehicles, and auxiliary equipment, in a professional and safe manner. You will be skilled and experienced in investigating and diagnosing faults, reporting findings, and be able to carry out all repairs to the current manufacturers’ standards.

About the Company and the Role:

The company is well established, having been in operation for almost 70 years and they are specialists in commercial vehicle rental. Their Business has 6 rental depots, with fully equipped, modern maintenance workshops in the North and South of England. From these depots they operate in excess of 2000 vehicles (of which 1000 are above 3.5 tons).

The role of HGV Technician will involve being responsible for carrying out inspection and service routines and repairs and testing of vehicles in a professional and safe manner.
