About the opportunity
As we continue to provide independent M&S technical leadership and support to the UK Armed Forces Nova Systems have opportunities for a Modelling & Simulation Engineers at all stages of their career to join our business.
To be successful in this role you will be passionate about not just the technology but also making sure our clients get the working in the M&S domain on site (and remotely where possible) with our defence clients in the UK.
The successful candidate will be involved across a wide spectrum of Defence Simulation and Wargaming projects with the opportunity to use their knowledge and skills to help our clients be intelligent customers, utilise the full capabilities of their Simulation systems (in both training and experimentation) and help Nova become the lead provider of Independent M&S support to government agencies in the UK and Europe.
What will I be doing:
- You’ll be part of a core team leading, driving and supporting UK Defence M&S Programmes, dependent on experience.
- You’ll be involved in many aspects of systems engineering support to Nova project teams, supporting our clients with problem solving or delivering new capabilities.
- R&D, concept development and assessment, requirements engineering, capability development, test and evaluation, and acceptance management.
- Develop and maintain Architecture models and Digital twins.
What are we looking for:
- Engineering, Science, or digitally focussed STEM-based education and or career.
- Fundamentals of computer (hardware and software) and networking architectures.
- Experience using programming languages and scripting (i.e. C++, C#, Java, Python).
- Knowledge and experience of designing and supporting the accreditation of MOD secure systems, preferably simulation systems, to JSP604, JSP440 and Secure by Design standard would be an advantage.
- Experience using, or understanding of COTS simulation, gaming products or specialist simulation tools:
- Previous experience of products include for examples VR Forces, VBS2/3/4, MS Flight Sim, Prepar3d, Unity, Unreal, Xplane, FlightGear, etc.
- Simulation Interoperability Standards including DIS and HLA.
- Self-motivated and able to operate with a high degree of autonomy.
- Problem solving skills.
