We are looking for a Monitoring and Rights Senior Coordinator to take charge of managing funded monitoring projects in Central Africa. This role involves providing guidance and oversight to the Project Coordinator and Project Officer for project implementation in Central and East Africa, as well as overseeing monitoring, evaluation, learning, and knowledge management. Additionally, the Senior Coordinator will be responsible for financial management, budget adherence, and reporting to donors, while also supporting RFUK’s Monitoring and Rights policy and advocacy efforts.

Person specifications
The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree or equivalent experience in law, anthropology, or international development. With at least 5 years of project management experience in charity or international development, they excel in leading large-scale and complex projects. Fluent in both English and French, they possess a deep understanding of forest governance and human rights, particularly in West and Central Africa. Demonstrating strategic thinking, strong negotiation skills, and a commitment to defending human rights, they collaborate effectively with local partners and advocate for marginalised communities. Cultural sensitivity, meticulous attention to detail, and exceptional organisational and communication skills are essential. Additionally, they should be willing to travel up to 16 weeks per year, including to remote forest areas.
