About the Role
Our production site uses specialised tools and machinery that turn our raw materials (e.g. clay) into products ready for use in the construction industry.
We have an opportunity as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our maintenance team in Denton. The team ensure all our electrical/mechanical plant equipment is working effectively, they reduce downtime, and they ensure everything is operating in a safe manner.
Duties include:
- Carry out fault finding, repair and maintenance work on plant and equipment
- Ensure that repairs are carried out promptly
- Check and ensure we have a safe working environment
- Use Agility (CMMS) for workload and fault reporting.
- Complete reports/paperwork accurately
- Carry out all planned preventative maintenance
- Assist with the installation of new plant equipment.
- Attend regular training
- Promote Lean Thinking
- Maintain and order stock/spares/materials
- Carry out risk assessments
- Be a health & safety advocate
We will provide you with full training and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to enable you to work safely and effectively.
Week 1: Sunday 18.00 - 06.30, Monday 18.00 - 06.30, Tuesday 18.00 - 06.30
Week 2: Sunday 18.00 - 06.30, Monday 18.00 - 06.30, Tuesday 18.00 - 06.30, Wednesday 18.00-06.30
We can offer flexibility around the Wednesday shift, such as working a full shift every two weeks, rather than half a shift weekly.
About You
You will be an experienced Maintenance Engineer, with experience working in a production environment. You’ll have high standards for health & safety and a passion for continuous improvement.
You will also have/be
- Apprentice-trained in a mechanical discipline
- Strong knowledge of maintenance experience and diagnostics of hydraulic/pneumatic/electrical control systems
- NVQ 3 or equivalent
- IT skills – working knowledge of MS Word, Excel & Outlook
- Strong communication skills
- Good organisation skills
- Awareness of IOSH is desirable but not essential
