An opportunity has arisen within Sunderland City Council for the role of Multi Skilled - Bricklayer / Joiner within the Property Services Section.
The role will involve working in domestic and commercial buildings carrying out a range of technical and non-technical trade activities to deliver capital works and Repairs and Maintenance to commercial and domestic properties.
Working alongside colleagues within the Repairs and Maintenance Team you will ensure that work is delivered to a high standard and meet our quality and performance expectations.
The post holder will be working as part of our Repairs department carrying out a variety of tasks to support business needs whilst being able to undertake your core trade of Bricklaying or Joinery as well as basic plumbing, ceramic tiling, plastering and decoration works as part of a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring all work is delivered to a high standard, providing an excellent customer service and ensuring all work is delivered on time and within budget.
Moving forward our focus is on improving, developing and growing the service to ensure we are providing a sustainable service to all customers. This role plays a key part in driving this ambition forward.
To succeed in this role applicants must have a relevant trade qualification and experience in Multi Skilled activities with experience of working within a busy operational repairs and maintenance department an advantage.
Working within the Repairs and Maintenance Team, you will be provided with a company vehicle for work purposes, as well as access to out of hours call out which attracts additional payments to the salary already on offer.
There is also a generous annual leave entitlement, which commences at 26 days rising to 31 days after 5 years of continuous service, in addition to this you will receive all statutory bank holidays for England & Wales. There is also a contributory government pension scheme, and access to flexible working.
