Multi Skilled Operator Support
What you need to know about the role
You will be working in and around the Steelmaking scrap bay. As part of the team you will be receiving, processing and delivering raw materials to the Steelmaking installations to enable them to make the right quality steel.
Driver Operator: You shall be required to operate a diverse range of small mobile plant to assist with material / product movement and ensuring your works area maintains good housekeeping practises. You will typically be driving a forklift to move all raw materials to the right place With training (which will be provided where required) and the possession of a full driving licence, you will also be driving, bobcats, a flat bed truck and a loading shovel and operating the bagging plant.
Burning: Using thermic lances (training shall be given where required) you shall burn through various steel scrap types to allow the material to be recycled back into the steelmaking process.
What we need to know about you
We are looking for reliable employees with a good work ethic and a positive commitment to Health & Safety. These roles can be strenuous and therefore a good level of fitness is also required. In addition you need to hold a full driving licence and be over 18 years of age. Whilst the majority of the roles are days based, the ability to work shifts as required would also be an advantage. Experience of operating mobile plant, including the possession of valid licences would also be an advantage.
