SalaryAngel Shed is an inclusive arts organisation based in Islington, North London. We are a space for children and young people of all abilities and backgrounds to access the transformative power of participation in the performing arts.
We actively reach out to those most likely to experience exclusion including those with disabilities, mental health issues, special education needs, emotional and behavioural needs, LGBTQ+ people, young carers and those from communities experiencing racism and racial inequality. We provide 1:1 assistance for members where necessary. The workshops are run by professional leaders, supported by a group of performing arts volunteers.
We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Music Volunteers for our Music Collective on Monday evenings 7.00-9.00pm. Our Music Volunteers support Angel Shed's artistic team in delivering sessions for young people aged 12+.
Responsibilities include working actively with the young people to enable creative, musical responses and teach them new instruments. We are particularly looking for people with practical skills in either singing, drums, guitar or music technology. You do not need to be formally trained or at a high level, as long as you have some skills you would like to pass on to a group of young people keen to learn.
Please note: All volunteers must be available for training on Monday 15th April, 5-9pm. Term runs from Monday 22nd April until Monday 15th July and, due to the needs of our members, consistent attendance is crucial.
