Job description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our Operations, Education & Impact Team as National Activities, Education & Quality Implementation Manager.In this role you will be central to the success of YHA’s education group products and lead the review and development of high quality educational packages and activities for our group customers, demonstrating and evidencing impact stories. You’ll prepare our Activities teams to deliver quality experience for young people, group leaders and those within the education sector in line with LOtC’s framework and YHA agreed standards. You’ll work closely with operational colleagues, to ensure that products are resourced and delivered to plan and budget.Home based with network travel.

What will you be doing?You will be:• Developing quality products for education groups, reviewing our activities offer in line with market need, competitor analysis, YHA priorities and maintaining appropriate resources to support its delivery.• Reviewing and developing our activities world class manual and other documents to ensure common standards policies and procedures across the organisation.• Leading the training of our activity teams working in conjunction with our operational colleagues to achieve a consistent and robust training and induction programme.• Coordinating LOTC accreditation to ensure full compliance with responsibility for observing monitoring and evaluating delivery.• Collaborating with the Head of Education to manage the tender process for high level activities ensuring that due diligence is carried out and sharing price differentials annually.• Developing insight and evaluation through analysing and reporting on our activity and trading income to monitor growth.• Working with marketing to embed our impact and evaluation framework.• Building effective relationships prospecting and engaging with key external partners both within education and business.• Developing relationships with our network team providing leadership mentor advise to hostel and activity staff and supporting with the recruitment of activity-based roles.• Working closely with activity teams to ensure that the products are resourced and delivered to plan. What Skills and Experience do you need?We value lived experience just as much as previous skills and knowledge. We offer a robust induction, ongoing training, and further development, however, some of our roles will have further skills requirements.• Experience within a product delivery, and/or of operating within a frontline or support capacity, within the education or outdoor learning industry.• Knowledge of the National Curriculum, predominantly across KS2, 3, 4 in curriculum areas that lend themselves to Learning Outside the Classroom (LoTC) activity. • Experience of planning, leading or assisting with activity delivery.• Understanding and experience of AALA, LoTC and/or equivalent statutory or quality standard accreditation.• Knowledge and experience of child safeguarding.• Knowledge and understanding of YHA’s customer base, particularly around educational products for young people.• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to build strong internal relationships with key internal stakeholders and experience of influencing at Senior and Executive management level,• Excellent organisational skills involving planning, prioritising and proven ability to manage several projects simultaneously, bringing each to completion on time• Experience of developing and monitoring KPIs.• Experience of report writing for varied stakeholders requiring differing levels of detail and summary.• Ability to work flexibly, including travel throughout England and Wales with occasional evening and weekend working and regular overnight stays to meet the needs of the businessWe welcome candidates with lived experiences that they are willing to share, that can inform/shape our approach, and help to reach those facing a range of personal or professional challenges. *We note that communication can take many forms.
