As a Senior Naval Architect or Principal Naval Architect, you'll play a vital role in delivering cutting-edge submarines to the Royal Navy and Royal Australian Navy. Work on complex ship design and build programs, contributing at every stage of the product life cycle, from early design to build support and commission.
Responsibilities of the Naval Architecture Team:
· Designing SSN AUKUS, the world’s most advanced submarine.
· Utilizing your expertise in hydrostatics, hydrodynamics, seamanship & outfit, infrastructure, or whole boat design to support major shipbuilding programs.
· Supporting sea trials, inclining experiments, and other commissioning activities for various submarine classes.
· Undertaking research and development activities to develop world-leading capabilities.
Senior Naval Architect Level Requirements:
Essential:
· Qualified Naval Architect with a degree in Ship Science, Marine Technology or similar
· Experience working in engineering or in postgraduate study
Desirable:
· Experience of stability or manoeuvring assessments, design or build support
· Good technical report writing and presentation skills
Principal Naval Architect Level Requirements:
Essential:
· Experienced Naval Architect with good understanding of marine design
· Chartered Engineer status with RINA
Desirable:
· Experience of stability or manoeuvring assessments, design or build support
· Good technical report writing and presentation skills
· Previous experience working on defence projects
