An exciting opportunity to work as part of the NDT inspection team at Forged Solutions Group Darley Dale. You will integrate into a well-established team of highly skilled NDT operators. The Job will include Inspecting parts using fluorescent dye penetrant, magnetic particle and visual inspection. Working to stringent standards for numerous customers mainly within the aerospace industry.
Key Objectives of the Role
- H&S – Work in a safe and responsible manner adopting FSG Standards. (For own and other people’s safety).
- Conduct any pre-shift H&S checks as specified.
- Housekeeping/maintaining a high standard of workplace organisation.
- Participate in Health and Safety Audits and Job Safety Observations.
- NDT (FDP/NPI) Inspection of critical rotating Parts for the aerospace industry as well as parts for oil/gas and power generation.
- Process parts using a variety of NDT methods, including preparation of parts before and after test.
- Interpret defects and make decisions based on customer acceptance standards.
- Follow customer specifications and procedures.
- Liaising with other departments to ensure a smooth flow of work.
- Write detailed inspection reports, and design techniques for testing.
- Assist in customer and internal audits.
- Have a familiarity with a number of NDT Methods used within aerospace, understand their uses and limitations.
- Will be cross trained in other NDT techniques.
- Any other ad-hoc duties as required.
- Experience of using NDT Methods with Forgings.
- Previous NDT Level II certification in one or more of the following NDT Methods (NAS410/EN4179 preferred):
Desirable: Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI);
Desirable: Visual inspection;
Desirable: Ultrasonic (UT);
Desirable: Acid Etch Inspection (AEI).
