Fairhive is a non-profit affordable housing provider with ambition. We already provide affordable housing to more than 20,000 people in our community but we want to do more. That’s why we are striving to provide 1,000 additional homes by 2025.

Are you well organised, confident with computers and great with people? We are looking for a Neighbourhood Assistant to join our busy and friendly team!

As a Neighbourhood Assistant at Fairhive you can expect a varied workload and to be a valued member of our team, providing administrative support, essential to the smooth running of the business. 

About the Role

We are looking for an organised administrator with good attention to detail and the ability to multi-task to provide essential administrative support to the Neighbourhood Management team.

On the Job you will:·

  • Deliver a quality support and advice service to residents on a range of housing issues and establish, provide and maintain an effective and high quality administrative support service to the Neighbourhood Management Team.
  • Work using your own initiative, respond to all correspondence within the required timescales and assist and support colleagues to provide a high quality, effective and efficient Neighbourhood Management service within the necessary timeframe. This may include requests for improvements, assignment of tenancies or arranging appointments and visits with other organisations.
  • Provide administrative support to the Neighbourhood Management Team and to maintain accurate records, research and collate statistical information as required to enable reports to be prepared.  
  • Work with internal teams and external agencies (as required) to have a positive impact and to deliver successful outcomes through your work.
  • Support the Neighbourhood Managers in all aspects of Neighbourhood Management tasks.

About You

We’re looking for someone who can take ownership of a variety of administration tasks and who enjoys working with a diverse range of people. You will understand the importance of delivering an efficient and effective service to colleagues and customers.

For this role you will need:

  • Experience of working effectively with both individuals and groups of people
  • An understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion issues
  • Minimum of 5 GCSE's at Grade C or above (including Maths and English)

It would also be desirable (but not essential) if you have:

  • Experience of working in social housing or other frontline customer service environment
  • A working knowledge of good practice in relation to social housing / housing management and welfare benefits
  • Experience of research and collating information to enable reports to be prepared.

You will ideally have skills and attributes that include:

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written & in-person)
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong planning and organisation skills with the ability to prioritise work
  • The ability to work using your own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Practical problem solving skills
  • Excellent Computer skills (MS Office)
