We have a fantastic opportunity for three Neighbourhood Care Operatives / Grounds Maintenance Workers at Bolton Council. This is a full-time temporary role for the next 3 months, with the possibility of extension.
What is the role?
Bolton Council are looking for three Neighbourhood Care Operatives / Grounds Maintenance Workers, to provide and maintain a clean and healthy environment within a specific neighbourhood area within the borough. Assist in all aspects of Street Cleansing and Grounds Maintenance work.
What are your responsibilities?
- To manually sweep and collect litter and detritus from the highway and open spaces shrub areas.
- Remove fly tipping and sharps.
- Manual and mechanical removal of animal faeces from highway.
- Remove accident debris and dead animals from highway.
- Empty and clean dog and litter bins.
- To undertake Grounds Maintenance duties including shrub and flower bed maintenance, shrub bed pruning, hedge cutting and pedestrian and ride on grass cutting and edging off of associated grassed areas.
- Sweeping pedestrian walkways
- Manually remove graffiti.
- To undertake leaf clearance by manually sweeping.
- Undertake water course checking.
- Ensure playground areas are maintained and street furniture is maintained and painted when required.
What skills do you Need?
- Must have previous Neighbourhood Care Operative / Grounds Maintenance experience.
- Excellent People skills, as you will be speaking to the public, other members of staff and senior managers.
- Must be physically Fit and Healthy, as you will be required to lift heavy items.
- Valid UK Driving licence would be desirable.
