Fairhive is a non-profit affordable housing provider with ambition. We already provide affordable housing to more than 20,000 people in our community but we want to do more. That's why we are striving to provide 1,000 additional homes by 2025.

As a Neighbourhood Team Leader at Fairhive you can expect to be in a dynamic role and to be an integral member of our team, providing support to the wider team to ensure the smooth running of the business.

About the Role

We are looking for an ambitious individual with strong interpersonal skills who is able to multi-task to provide direction and support to the Housing Services team.

On the Job you will:

  • Lead, develop and be responsible for the delivery of a comprehensive and responsive neighbourhood management and ASB service that ensures high levels of customer service, service delivery and satisfaction are provided to our customers
  • Ensure tenancies are supported and sustained and that tenancy conditions are effectively enforced and tenancy management issues such as ASB, permissions, successions, property condition, safeguarding issues, occupation and non-occupation of properties and tenancy fraud concerns are correctly assessed and addressed in accordance with our policies and procedures
  • Be responsible, through the Housing Services Manager for the delivery of an integrated and progressive neighbourhood management service
  • Lead and manage the tenancy management, tenancy sustainment, safeguarding and ASB services, delivering in line with our strategic aims and objectives including the effective and efficient use of resources
  • Be responsible for the delivery of high quality 'customer focused' tenancy management and ASB services which are provided in accordance with the relevant legislation, regulation, 'best' practice and respond flexibly to the developing needs of the organisation and customer expectations
  • Provide leadership and direction to the Neighbourhood Management Team by leading the development and implementation of policies and procedures, plans and processes and be accountable for their delivery to enable the effective provision of tenancy management (including ASB) services, which may at times include working in unpleasant conditions and with potentially violent persons
  • Investigate complaints and ensure that the services we provide are able to meet the needs and satisfaction of customers, whilst being able to demonstrate customer focus and cost effectiveness in accordance with our Customer Commitments and Equal Opportunities Policies
  • Develop and lead initiatives that enable effective collaborative working partnerships with other internal teams and external agencies to ensure positive outcomes for our customers and for us in accordance with our neighbourhood management - and overall organisational - service objectives
  • In liaison with the Housing Services Manager, lead on and ensure that we are prepared for any audit, review or regulatory inspection relating to the neighbourhood management service
  • Support the Housing Services Manager to ensure that we deliver service within the agreed budgets. To help monitor budgets in accordance with our financial monitoring framework, standing orders and financial regulations.

About You

We're looking for someone who can take ownership of a variety of projects and who enjoys working with a diverse range of people. You will understand the importance of delivering an efficient and effective service to colleagues and customers.

For this role you will need:

  • A degree, a relevant professional qualification, or equivalent experience, in neighbourhood management
  • Direct experience of leading and managing a team (including leading/managing ASB), as well as thorough knowledge of the concepts that underpin the neighbourhood management area of work (including housing/ASB legislation)

You will ideally have skills and attributes that include:

  • The ability to effectively apply your experience and knowledge to improve customer service, service delivery and customer satisfaction
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the confidence to communicate across all levels of the business
  • Strong organisational, time management, administrative and prioritisation skills
  • Good IT skills
  • A commitment to the promotion of equality and diversity in service delivery.
