Job description

Part Time - 22.2 hours per week (0.6 FTE) Arts University Plymouth’s Pre-Degree campus is a dynamic, creative and holistic learning environment. An independent university with a dedicated Pre-Degree & Sixth Form centre for 16 to 19-year-olds, Arts University Plymouth is a significant provider for the arts in the South West of the UK. The University consistently exceeds national benchmarks for vocational education as well as English and Maths GCSEs. The purpose of the Pre-Degree Lecturer role is to ensure a strong and high quality delivery of the University’s UAL Level 3 qualifications across a range of Extended Diploma specialisms, including but not limited to Fashion Design, Textiles, Art, Painting, Film, Graphic Design, Photography or Illustration. You will work across the Extended Diploma team as part of an academic community of highly experienced and professional educators under the line management of the Assistant Head of Pre-Degree. This role will require a flexible and innovative approach from an individual who is excited by the idea of contributing to the development in an institution where everybody’s voice is heard and valued. About The Role: As a Pre-Degree Lecturer you will: ● Support and encourage Pre-Degree learners to develop their creative and professional practices. ● Provide high quality learning and teaching and to assist in the strategic and creative development of the work of the subject area in supporting the achievement of the university’s Strategic Objectives. ● Be part of a dynamic Pre-Degree team committed to the student experience with particular focus on vocational learning, academic skills and building transferable skills. ● Ensure excellence and innovative delivery of the curriculum to promote learning and progression. ● Contribute to the further development of traditional and contemporary curriculum design within the FE sector.
