What you need to know:
- We have a paperless application process and as such are totally reliant on their ability to deliver a high quality eCommerce platform to market. Technology and application development in particular is therefore core to the success of the company.
- This is a key role that will help to develop the company's electronic proposition as its key asset. As such, candidates should have a proven track record of success as a developer on a technical team elsewhere.
- We are seeking a developer to join an experienced Life Insurance development team based close to the station in Reigate (Surrey). This is easily commutable from London.
- A team of 8 very experienced application developers have built and continue to develop and support the life insurance platform for a leading insurance company. The team structure is relatively flat and every team member is expected to contribute to the design, development and continual improvement of all aspects of the platform.
We require a very competent developer who can;
- quickly integrate with the existing team.
- demonstrate experience of working in an environment where TDD and Agile development have been used and extensively practiced, e.g. story-based development, stakeholder workshops, daily stand-ups, pair programming, regular demos etc.
- communicate clearly and effectively about technical and non-technical subjects. It may also be necessary to communicate with external suppliers and/or partners.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop eCommerce platform and associated applications/services.
- Be responsible for developing and delivering core components of our architecture that drive our ecommerce business
- Understand and operate successfully in an Agile TDD/Continuous Integration environment.
Essential Skills
- .NET web application development in c# (MVC and WebApi)
- Database (Oracle or SQL Server)
- Test driven development (TDD)
Desirable Skills
- JavaScript, HTML, CSS and JQuery, e.g. AngularJs and Bootstrap
- ORM - EF, nHibernate etc
- AutoFac or other dependency injection
- Agile (SCRUM)
- Java/Weblogic
