We are currently recruiting for a Network Administratorfor a manufacturing client of ours based in East London (mainly office based with 1 day from home per week).
JOB OVERVIEW:
- Secure operation of the organization's network infrastructure.
- Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of network systems.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot /resolve network-related problems.
PERSON PROFILE:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, demonstrating strong communication.
- Ability to analyse complex network configurations.
- Work well independently and in a team, managing priorities and tasks.
- Updated with emerging network technologies.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (but not limited to):
- Design and maintenance of the organization's network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls/ wireless access points.
- Configure and optimize network devices and protocols to ensure reliable and efficient network performance.
- Partner with vendors and service providers to manage network services and ensure compliance with service-level agreements.
- Network-related projects, providing technical expertise, and assisting in the implementation of new network solutions.
- Evaluation and selection of network equipment, software, and service providers.
- Support and guidance to junior Network Administrators and technicians as needed.
- Network performance, availability, and security, identifying and resolving network issues.
- Network performance analysis and capacity planning to ensure scalability.
- Implement network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Update network documentation, including network diagrams, configuration files.
- Regular network backups and implement disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
- Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging technologies, proposing enhancements to the network infrastructure and security posture.
EXPERIENCE /QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience as a Network Administrator or in a similar networking role.
- Understanding of network, technologies, and concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPN, and routing protocols.
- Network infrastructure devices, such as switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Knowledge of network documentation tools.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams/ vendors.
- Certifications, such as CCNA or CCNP (would be advantageous).
- Network security principles/ practices.
- Network troubleshooting/performance optimization.
- Knowledge of network monitoring and management tools.
- Network backup and disaster recovery strategies.
