Location: 2A Penrhyn Avenue, London, E17 5DB
Hours: Full time 37.5 hours (typically 9-5 but negotiable). Part-time is considered over 20 hours.
Pay: £12/hour and negotiable with an experience

Background
We are seeking an ambitious and dedicated GP Practice Administrator (experience is advantageous) to join our practice situated in Waltham Forest.
The role of our Administrator requires an individual who has a keen focus on detail and organisation.
Proficiency in EMIS, Microsoft Outlook ERS referrals and Patient Triage.
Main duties
- · To Support the staff in the reception and administrative side by doing Patient triage in morning rush hours.
- · To support the tasks by delivering timely referrals, and documentation management provided in the clinical system specific to patients as directed by the clinical team.
- · To support the introduction of any new methodology or systems upgrade.
- · To initiate and process electronic referrals.
- · To process patient correspondence using the current document management system,
- · To participate in coding patients' records in line with coding protocols.
- · Ability to work both within a team and independently.
- · Makes effective and considerate decisions but understands when to seek advice and guidance.
- · Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- · Able to deputise for the Administrative Lead as and when required.
- · Excellent organisational skills
- · Able to effectively manage and prioritise own workload.

About the Practice
Penrhyn Surgery is a forward-thinking training practice of over 9000 patients. Our warm and friendly surgery is led by two GP partners, and doctors and has a diverse multi-disciplinary team consisting of nurses, pharmacists and health care assistants. The practice is also supported and managed by a strong and experienced team of managers, practice leads, admin and reception staff.
Person Specification
Qualifications/Education:
- GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths
Knowledge and skills:
Previous Experience:
- Previous administrative / clerical experience, ideally gained within a healthcare setting.
- Experience with EMIS, ERS Referrals
- Track record of data / information management using computerised / paper-based systems
- Experience of dealing with members of the public either face to face or over the telephone
To be considered for this exciting role:
- Reception or customer care experience is essential.
- The person must be an excellent communicator both spoken and written.
- Must have PC skills will be able to use basic Word, Excel, and e-mail.
- Must be able to work within processes/procedures.
- Work effectively with colleagues as part of a team.
- A willingness to learn and progress with a ‘can do’ attitude.
- Previous experience of working in the NHS is welcome but not essential.
- The ability to communicate with a wide range of people in a kind, professional and caring way.
- Taking part in all mandatory training, annual appraisal, and continued education, learning and development.
