Job Description
We are looking for an experienced truck driver to serve our supply chain logistics department in a safe and timely manner. The opportunity has arisen for a Class 2 Driver to work for a family run company with over 50 years in the haulage industry.
Your duties will involve collecting palletised or other similar goods in a curtain sided 18 tonne vehicle. A period of 2days training/job shadowing is required which is paid.
Hours - Monday to Friday, 55 hours per week, Starting 06:00AM daily with 28 days annual leave per year including bank/public holidays (pro rata).
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
- To ensure that each day all completed work is detailed on your daily worksheet and that they are handed in daily/weekly along with the daily vehicle check sheets, fuel receipts
- To act as ambassadors on behalf of the Company, ensuring that the client is treated courteously and respectfully and that their requirements are complied with where safe to do so.
- To comply with all traffic laws and legislation with relation to your duties including the security and weight of loads.
- To maintain regular contact with your line manager throughout the day to advise of progress.
- To confirm to all applicable site rules.
- To carry out any other duties that may be required as directed by your line manager.
The successful applicants must:
- Hold a Class 2 licence as a minimum with previous driving experience essential
- Driver CPC is essential
- Digital Tacho Card
- Have a good geographical knowledge of the UK
- Have excellent customer service skills
- Have no more than 6 minor points (No IN/DR/DD) Insurance restrictions apply.
All candidates selected for interview must supply proof of entitlement to work in the UK, original driving documents and DVLA licence check code at interview. Immediate start available for suitable applicant.
