Job description

As the Network Manager, you will lead the development and implementation of the school's digital strategy, ensuring efficient management and integrity of IT networks, cybersecurity, and applications. You will collaborate with staff and teachers to enhance technology integration in the classroom, maintain strong relationships with external service providers, and ensure compliance with IT policies and licensing requirements while safeguarding the school's technology assets. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Strategy & Planning ITWork with Leadership Group to create and maintain a school IT improvement planTo plan, develop and install any developments of the ICT services and project manage their implementationIT SupportSupport the development of ICT to meet the needs of the curriculumTechnologies To keep abreast of new technological developments in ICT and present proposals, with recommendations, to the Leadership GroupNetwork Take overall responsibility for the monitoring and development of the school’s ICT networkCyber Security Keep the school secure and as safe as possible from cyber security threatsBuilding Management Systems Liaising with key stakeholders to install and maintain physical network security tools such as CCTV, Electronic door systems & visitor systemsManagement To Manage the IT Support Team to ensure they carry out their duties effectivelyTo manage contacts with external contractors and suppliers, adhering to school policies and proceduresTo manage the IT budget to ensure effective and efficient use of school funds in compliance with procurement procedures, obtaining value for moneyTo ensure school data follows General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) so that the school is acting responsibly and legally with respect to copyright, computer misuse and data protectionDesktop & Applications Support / Server & Network Support / Configuration & Installation To manage the acquisition, installation, configuration and maintenance of the school network systems, software and applicationsManagement of school user accounts, including access to systems such as Sims and other online systems where necessaryProvide technical support for staff and students in lessons (and outside school hours where necessary) Manage the School Hardware including servers, workstations, routers, switchesManage the Schools virtual server infrastructureDiagnosis of faults and problems and carry out remedial action to school kit including repair of serversLiaising with suppliers in order to maintain effective services on siteEnsure safe and reliable running of ICT infrastructure in order that the integrity and security of the networks is maintained at all times
Ensuring that a full disaster recovery programme is in place and problems with the plan are diagnosed and repairedEnsure that a full cyber security programme is in place and problems with the plan are diagnosed and repairedMaintain access for students and staff on the school networksTo maintain and manage an inventory of all school IT Hardware including locationsTo manage all aspects of Audio-Visual equipmentTo create, develop and maintain the school’s intranetTo maintain the school E-safety system in coordination of the school safeguarding teamTo maintain the school CCTV system and collect footage when requiredTo maintain and manage the school Internet and filtering services including checking and reporting student and staff behaviourQualifications and Experience we are looking for: A sound ICT background with knowledge of industry standard desktop application software and hardware
Possess extensive knowledge of SIMS and other educational applications Have extensive practical knowledge and proven experience of administering and supporting Microsoft Products and educational network management software Be able to provide a high level of technical knowledge, both in a practical setting and on a strategic level to support IT in the curriculum and school management Have experience of working in an ICT networked environment Have the ability to prioritise time effectively when working under pressure Possess excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to form strong working relationships with key staff and students at all levelsThe role is an exciting position, offered on a full year, full-time basisThe successful candidate must have the ability to converse at ease with members of the public and students and providing advice in accurate spoken English is essential to the role.
