- Royal London Pension Scheme
- 45p per mile for any work related journeys
Who will I be working with?
- Really NEET was born from the need to offer a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment for young people aged 16-24yrs who have struggled to cope in mainstream education.
- Most of our learners will have some form external barriers to education also. We offer holistic wrap around support teamed with a youth work approach so that we can support our learners to thrive inside and outside of the classroom.
- All of our learners have an Educational, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and as a result all have some level of additional need. Some of the most common areas of need that we see are Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH), Autism (ASC), ADHD although we work with learners with a much broader range of needs.
- To allow our learners to thrive we work in small group sizes of approx. 6-10 with support staff
- Ahead of any learner coming to us we consult with the local authority to ensure that we are the most suitable provider to meet their needs.
Main Responsibilities
- To be responsible for a caseload of approx 30 learners with EHCP's aged 16-25
- To act as the main point of contact for staff and services with SEN/D related queries
- To arrange and carry out Annual Reviews, PEP’s etc as well as completion and submission of all relevant paperwork, acting as chair for these meetings when required
- To assist the Project Coordinator with the transition process for learners starting at Really NEET as well as those learners leaving Really NEET
- To ensure that awareness of SEND issues is maintained across all of the staff, taking a lead on training staff in these areas
- Responsible for over-seeing the progression of learners on completion of the course
- Support teaching staff to set targets for raising achievement among SEN pupils and other groups as appropriate.
- Consider the range of teaching strategies / equipment that could be utilised for pupils to maximise understanding, engagement and achievement
- Promote Inclusion best practice and contribute to the aims and ethos of the college
- To interpret the recommendations of Educational Psychologist, Occupational Therapist and other reports and to disseminate them so that they are effectively implemented in the classroom
- To participate in weekly group engagement activities such as bowling, horse riding, climbing, graffiti workshops etc to ensure you build a strong rapport with all students.
- To carry out student pick ups/drop offs to and from home using own car that is covered by your own business insurance (you will be given a mileage allowance)
The post holder may be required from time to time to undertake other duties within the school as may be reasonable expected, without changing the general character of the duties or the level of responsibility entailed. This is a common occurrence and would not justify a reconsideration of salary.
The priorities for each year will be reviewed against this job description annually through performance management meetings and appraisals
To apply please complete and submit your application form to Katy Middleton-Groom.
Please note that we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our pupils and expect all those who work with us to share this commitment. Successful applicants will need to undertake a DBS Enhanced Clearance check (Disclosure and Barring Service).
