About the Role:

The Networks & Events Officer is a key member of the Voluntary Norfolk Communities Team which provides support to the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Sector (VCSE) across Norfolk. This team is part of the Empowering Communities (EC) Partnership, made up of local infrastructure organisations, which delivers a programme of support for the local VCSE sector. This role coordinates the Voluntary Norfolk Network, a free network for anyone involved in the running of local VCSE organisations. The Network shares resources and key updates, and aims to connect individuals working across the county. The Networks & Events Officer is also key to supporting our events programme and the wider Empowering Communities Partnership.

Main Relationships:

Colleagues in the Voluntary Norfolk Communities Team, Empowering Communities partners, Voluntary Norfolk Communications Team, VCSE organisations across Norfolk.

Main Purpose of the Job:

•To coordinate, promote and help develop the Voluntary Norfolk Network, and disseminate up-to-date relevant information.

•To work with the Empowering Communities Programme Manager to programme, promote and deliver events, training and workshops.

•To support the coordination and promotion of the wider Empowering Communities programme.

Main Tasks:

Networks

•To be the first point of contact for the main Voluntary Norfolk Network of VCSE organisations.

•To maintain communication with the Voluntary Norfolk Network using different platforms and methods, including e-newsletters, social media and online notice boards.

•To ensure all new Network signups are recorded on the CRM system.

•To facilitate information sharing, learning and the building of connections between network members.

•To identify useful relevant information, resources and updates for the network, communicating these in accessible ways through newsletters and Padlets.

•Promote the Voluntary Norfolk Network to voluntary, community, social enterprise organisations, and statutory partners.

•Work with the Empowering Communities Programme Manager to identify opportunities to develop and expand the Network to increase VCSE engagement.

•Support the Empowering Communities Programme Manager in developing the VCSE Leadership Network.

Events

•Work with the Empowering Communities Programme Manager to identify emerging issues for VCSEs in Norfolk in order to develop a relevant programme of events supporting sector needs.

•Work with the Empowering Communities Programme Manager to identify and liaise with speakers and external organisations to contribute to events and workshops.

•Work with the Communications Team to coordinate the promotion of events on social media channels and in e-newsletters.

•Administer and monitor online booking systems for events and workshops.

•Support with the delivery of both online and in-person events and workshops.

Empowering Communities

•Work with Empowering Communities partners to maintain a bank of information and resources for local voluntary and community sector organisations.

•Work as part of the Empowering Communities enquiries team to monitor and triage enquiries to the Empowering Communities inbox.

•Take part in Empowering Communities training & events team meetings to ensure the overall programme is coordinated and joined-up.

Monitoring and Reporting

•Collate feedback and data from events and Network communications to meet reporting requirements.

•Ensure the CRM is kept up to date, working with the Empowering Communities Programme Manager and Freelance Data Analyst to develop & promote CRM best practice within the team.

•Work with the Data Analyst to provide reports as required.

Other Duties

•Triage phone and email enquiries to the VN Communities Team from local voluntary and community sector organisations requesting support.

•Working collaboratively with VN Communities Team colleagues to help deliver the team’s strategic objectives.

•To act as an ambassador to CBR Business Solutions and promote these services to the VCSE sector.

•Any other duties allocated by the Empowering Communities Programme Manager or Director of Infrastructure.

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: From £26,580.00 per year

Expected hours: 22.5 per week
