Job description

Advertised is a full time, open ended position required for 37 hours per week.


The Customer Liaison Team is made up of 6 members of staff responsible for communication, engagement and liaison across Housing Management, Building Maintenance, the Housing Development Programme and the Decarbonisation Programme. The New Homes Officer will be responsible for the successful handover of new build properties, ensuring a smooth transition of supporting new tenants to move the properties, identifying opportunities for engagement and providing excellent communication to ensure all stakeholders are kept informed and up to date throughout the handover of each project. This role fits within the Customer Liaison Team as there will be cross-over working with all areas previously listed.


The main duties of the New Homes Officer will be to provide excellent customer service to all new tenants, to liaise with necessary teams and departments, to manage defects within the initial 12 month period, to carry out site inspections and support the snagging process, to create home user guides, demos and supporting information videos, to carry out settling in visits to new tenants and complete new scheme administration.


The ideal candidate will be approachable and friendly with energy and enthusiasm, proven excellent communication and organisational skills, and the ability to be proactive and work on own initiative. As this is a new role, the candidate will need to have a curiosity to learn, unpick and solve problems independently and the ability to face challenges and confrontation in a calm and positive manner. Practical experience of working in the construction or housing sector in a customer based environment is essential to this role.
