Through it we are providing online psychological assessment and treatment for
a group of clients identified to have Psychologically Complex presentations.
Service Specification
This service specification relates to a group of about 80 people with mental health
difficulties who may present with current risks which may exceed what can be managed
within Primary Care but who do not require a care coordination approach.
This client group often have co-occurring problems and may already have had brief time-
limited psychological interventions. Due to the psychological complexity, complex trauma
or longstanding attachment issues may be involved, as well as EUPD and other personality
disorders. Treatment is more likely to be formulation driven and multi-modal, although may still be completed in a single modality e.g. Cognitive Analytical Therapy.
To receive referrals from this pathway you must have the following;
Essential
- Masters level qualification or above
- Accreditation with a recognised professional body
- Robust experience of working therapeutically with this client group - e.g. complex
- High level of experience assessing and managing risk and safeguarding
Desirable
- Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team
- Experience working in secondary care
- Trained in DBT, CAT, Trauma informed CBT, EMDR, CBT
We will provide the following:
- £75 per 60-minute session
- Monthly group clinical supervision with Dr Richard Haslam, Consultant
- Weekly zoning meetings to discuss risk management
- Additional training as need is identified
- Full operational and safeguarding support
