Monday to Thursday Night shift – 21:15 – 07:00.
Our client makes precision metal components for the power generation and aerospace industries. They are part of an international group and offer great career potential. The Production Supervisor will oversea teams of operatives during Night Shifts.
The Nights Shift Production Supervisor will provide supervisory cover and support for all employees working on Night Shift patterns, ensuring all departments are working in line with planned activity and targets. Support with any production related issues during Night Shift and providing a detailed Handover to area Supervision at the end of shift.
Night Shift Supervisor responsibilities:
- Interacting with employees across all departments to ensure work is being undertaken in line with departmental commits and targets
- Supporting with the resolution of any production-based issues or work changes that may be required during the shift.
- Undertaking health and safety interactions and work tasks including – risk assessments, COSHH reviews, Rate your State and work to support safety investigations.
- Supporting and coordinating any 6S or continuous improvement activities taking place during shift
- Supporting the completion of employee discussions such as return to work interviews
- Developing the internal team leader network to help with communication and engagement on safety, quality and performance topics
- Completing regular checks on work status, throughput across all departments during Night Shift hours
- Ensure adhere to all company policies and procedures, including but not restricted to: SOX, Code of Conduct, Health and Safety, quality assurance, etc.
- Undertaking a comprehensive handover with Area Supervisors at the end of shift – ensuring any issues are reported back as a priority.
- Undertake any other duties required to drive continuous improvement in the manufacturing process
Experience / skills
- Proven experience in a Team Leader or first line supervision position.
- Experience of working in a fast based manufacturing environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to get the best out of a team
- Good understanding of key manufacturing processes and matrices (TOC, 6S, variable cost control etc.)
- Solid IT Skills with experience of using Microsoft Office applications
Qualifications
- Formal qualification in an Engineering or Technical discipline
- Recognized qualification in Health and Safety / Environment would be advantageous (i.e. IOSH / NEBOSH)
- Training or qualification in Lean manufacturing and process improvement (6 sigma, zero defects, 6S, kaizen, 7 wastes, etc)
