Your typical day, as a Night Support Worker (Teenagers 16-17 years), would be busy and will involve balancing hands-on support for residents, administrative tasks along with collaborating with external services.
The support you provide would include regular welfare checks on the residents you help, whilst considering their support plans and any safety assessments which will require ongoing updating.
You will be responsible for checking our resident’s accommodation to see if any necessary repairs are needed or whether there could be any safety issues you may need to manage.
There could be safeguarding issues which you will need to address to protect our residents from harm, abuse, or neglect.
You will provide practical support helping our residents with their benefit applications or even co-ordinating group or a one-to-one activity.
Your goal, as our Night Support Worker (Teenagers 16-17 years) is to guide our young residents towards securing a place on the housing register or finding appropriate rental properties.
You will manage a group of young residents with complex needs, offering them the practical and emotional support necessary to regain their independence.
Given the complexity of their needs, it’s crucial to establish consistent,trusting relationships, ensuring they feel secure and supported.
This role needsempathy, excellent listening skills, a non-judgmental attitude, and the ability to recognise and respond to potential issues. You must be capable of working autonomously, navigating, and defusing difficult situations to prevent escalation.
What we’re looking for:
- Have you got experience of working with teenagers between the ages of 16-17 years?
- Do you have knowledge or experience of safeguarding and trauma informed principles?
- Have you got experience of managing challenging behaviour?

This role will require an Enhanced DBS check and subscription to the update service.
