The Opportunity

Our well-established Medivet 24-hour Dearne Valley Centre is seeking a Night Veterinary Nurse to join this talented team.

The night nurse will be responsible for dealing with all out-of-hour care within the hospital and the surrounding Medivet practices, while working alongside a dedicated Night Veterinary Surgeon.

All our practices share the same software, so you will always have access to your patients’ history; case continuity guaranteed!

Dearne Valley is a 24-hour purpose-built facility with up-to-date digital x-ray, ultrasound and full body CT scanner and an in-house laboratory.

The practice has 3 large consulting rooms, 2 theatres, large prep area, internal lab facilities and large learning and office spaces.

Role Accountabilities

Exceptional care is at the heart of everything we do at Medivet. That’s the care for our patients, our clients and for each other – we really want to make a positive difference through every interaction we have.
In this role you will:

  • Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients.
  • Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity.
  • Carry out nurse led appointments and schedule 3 activities.
  • Deliver patient monitoring and care.
  • Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team.
  • Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care.
  • Dispense and check medication.
  • Deliver professional excellence, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards.
  • Hold briefings to engage and co-ordinate your team to support the most effective running of the practice.

Your Skills and Experience

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.
  • Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care.
  • Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.
  • Experience of supporting Nurse consults, with an understanding of how this contributes to practice performance and efficiency.
  • Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
