Role Overview:
Our Service at Brixton Hill mainly provides support services to Looked After Children (LAC) and Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC). It is a 6 bed emergency timeout accommodation provision for young adults ages 16-17 year old.
The Service provides 24-hour emergency bed spaces for LACs and UASCs, with an average of 4 weeks stay whilst engaging with family mediation to return home or move to more long-term accommodation.
We have a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is interested in working with us as NightYoung People Support Worker. This exciting job will avail you the opportunity to manage a caseload of clients, addressing their physical, emotional, social and behavioural needs; supporting them to progress towards independence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of clients in the service at all times including ensuring that Safeguarding and emergency alert procedures are followed as laid out in Depaul’s Policy and Procedures
- Ensure health and safety of the environment for clients, staff, visitors and volunteers through regular risk assessment, health and safety checks and reporting in accordance with the Health and Safety Policy.
- Proactively lead on partnerships with local agencies including statutory teams, to support the well-being of Depaul clients in accordance with data protection and information sharing protocols
Please note that this job opportunity is offered as a full-time (37.5 hours a week), permanent role.
What We Are Looking For – Person Specification:
- Experience of working in a busy support or care environment
- Experiencing of working with non-UK nationals or those who have experienced homelessness
- Experience of using Risk Assessments and Support Planning
- Experience of operating safeguarding requirements and procedures
- The ability to lone-work and being pro-active
