We are a CQC registered non-emergency PATIENT TRANSPORT service providing transportation for NHS patients, conveying thousands of patients every year. At PTS-247 we understand that our PATIENT TRANSPORT service is first and foremost about the patient.
Your main responsibility will be transporting elderly, sick and vulnerable service users to and from their medical appointments and between healthcare facilities so it is vital to hold a clean full UK driving licence and to have a good degree of physical fitness.
Duties include:
- Building rapport by effectively communicating with patients and their relatives/friends
- Follow all traffic laws
- Communicate with dispatchers and other team members to co-ordinate transportation schedules
- Responsible for assisting service users in and out of the vehicle
- Assist with the handing over of patients to appropriate staff on arrival at treatment centres/hospitals or to family/friends at their homes
- Ensuring that the vehicle is kept safe, clean and tidy, before and after every patient
To be considered as a PTS Driver, you will need to be:
- Committed to patient care
- An effective communicator and experience of communicating with others in what can often be emotional circumstances
- A calm, considerate, careful driver
- Have a natural flair for team working and collaboration
- Be physically fit for patient handling and moving
- Pass an Enhanced DBS check (company funded) and 2 x references
- Be able to work flexible shifts, independently, with minimal supervision
