Job Title: Social Worker - Safe and Supported Team

North Tyneside Council is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our Safe and Supported Team, focusing on Children in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), Children in Care (CIC), and Adoption.
Key Responsibilities
As a Social Worker within the Safe and Supported Team, you will be responsible for -
Assessment and Planning: Conducting thorough assessments of children and families to determine their needs and risks. Developing comprehensive care plans that promote the welfare of children and provide support to families
Intervention and Support: Delivering high-quality interventions to children in need, those requiring protection, children in care, and those undergoing adoption processes. Collaborating with colleagues and partner agencies to ensure the delivery of effective services
Court Proceedings: Participating in court proceedings and preparing reports as required. Representing the local authority's position and providing evidence to support decisions that safeguard children
Partnership Working: Building strong relationships with families, fostering networks, and working closely with other professionals, agencies, and stakeholders to ensure holistic support for children and families
Case Management: Effectively managing a caseload of diverse and complex cases, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and providing timely and evidence-based interventions
Promoting Permanence: Facilitating the adoption process and working towards securing permanent and stable living arrangements for children in care
Qualifications and Skills
- A recognised social work qualification and current Social Work England registration
- Experience working in a statutory child protection setting, with a comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation and policies
- Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make informed decisions in complex situations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with children, families, and professionals
- Commitment to continuous professional development and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
