This Role
Responsible for managing delivery of NPI from concept to launch for the UK and US market, in line with our innovation strategy, to support business growth.
What you need to deliver
• New product formulations designed and approved according to the product brief as set out by the Head of Innovation.
• Direct a broad team including internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure NPI / EPD projects are delivered on time, meet margin expectations & the required technical standards.
• Operate as main point of contact with technical and product development resource within our 3PM, briefing new products and ensuring they meet food safety, ESG and technical requirements.
• Oversee pilot trials, scale-up, transit trials and first production runs, troubleshooting any problems and agree product testing and product quality parameters.
• Design of clinical trials of commercial formulations in target species, interpretation and sharing of results.
• Technical input to new ingredient sourcing alongside regulatory, quality and procurement to ensure all ingredients are approved & meet technical and organisational requirements.
• Lead structural packaging development for all NPI and EPD projects and artwork input & approval.
• Keep abreast of global market trends, ingredient, and technological advancements to grow knowledge and strategically inform the product development pipeline.
• Managing and updating the product management system housing technical product information including formulations, spec sheets, ingredient approvals, and supplier questionnaires.
• Deliver a technical handover to the Vet Tech team for all NPI and provide scientific and technical input to the wider Lintbells business on new products when required.
What you need to succeed
• Prior experience in pet health
• Previous experience of being in a similar role
• Willing to travel to suppliers across the UK, Ireland and US
