Islington Council is proud to be a Borough of Sanctuary and we extend the offer of welcome to asylum seekers living in Islington, alongside ongoing responses for refugees and people effected by the ‘no resource to public funds’ condition.
We need a NRPF Refugee and Migrant Officer who can:
- Deliver the council's strategic response to large scale Home Office asylum accommodation in Islington.
- Implement effective casework responses in partnership with organisations commissioned to deliver services to refugees and Migrants.
- Be innovative in utilising available resources to help improve outcomes for people and prevent homelessness.
You will join a service that is dedicated to challenging discrimination, racism and inequality through an inclusive, informed and empowering approach for all residents. By working for a Borough of Sanctuary, you will gain experience about how councils can best work to enable successful integration, build social cohesion and tackle other challenges people might face because of cost-of-living, housing or other pressures.
If you have the right skills and experience, and an ambition to establish Islington Council’s reputation as the leading council for refugee, asylum seekers and people with NRPF, please apply!
