The Role

My client is a leading manufacturer in their industry, who are looking to bring in an experienced Assembly Operative to their team.
You will be expected to achieve high standards of quality, work to production schedules, improve working processes and assisting on technical input.
You must company with the British Nuclear Standards and Regulations.

Nuclear Assembly Operative

Main Responsibilities

• Prepare work to be accompanied by studying assembly drawings, bills of materials, parts lists, gathering parts, subassemblies, tools and materials.
• Assemble components to drawing requirements & verify conformity.
• Pressure testing and functional testing of assembled components.
• Prepare finished parts for shipping to customer.
• Prepare child parts for assembly, including but not limited to Polishing, local de-burring, cleaning and packaging.
• Analyse and resolve assembly problems by notifying Quality.
• Using standardised techniques, tools and practices and contributing to the product/continual process improvement effort.
• Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
• Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
• Use computers in order to extract data.
• Contribute to a team working environment.
• Contribute to continuous improvement.
• Conduct testing in accordance with procedure and drawing/design intent.
• Precision finishing of piece parts & assemblies.

  The Candidate

• Must be a British National – this position has to comply with British Nuclear Standards & Regulations (dual nationalities not accepted).
• Working in an engineering background, with assembly experience (at least 3 years’ experience).
• Previous experience in lean manufacturing principals.
• Strong work ethic, must want to do tasks and understand their value.
• Reliable, general timekeeping and honesty, working unsupervised.
• Adaptable over a broad range of work ranging from routine administration to assembly of parts.
• Motivated to take on new areas of work and learn new skills.
• Attention to detail, data accuracy and a ‘right first time’ approach.
• Willingness to embrace change and continuous improvement.
• Flexible when required.
• Quality Focused.
• Safety conscious and able to ensure a safe working environment to work in.
